Partial Encrypted Bitlocker Data Recovery
Partial Encrypted Bitlocker Data Recovery

Unintentionally, I turned off the power while encrypting an external hard disk using BitLocker. The encryption process was nearing completion. At present, disk management indicates that the BitLocker encrypted drive is an unrecognized partition that is inaccessible through My Computer. I am reluctant to format the drive due to the criticality of the data. Is it possible to recover partially encrypted BitLocker data?

In this situation, the HDD has been encrypted to some extent using BitLocker. Even if you are unable to access the drive using the password or recovery key, you can still recover the data.

The BitLocker data recovery software is a specialized program designed for recovering data encrypted by BitLocker. It is capable of retrieving data from partially encrypted BitLocker data recovery, retrieving data from failed or stalled BitLocker devices, and similar tasks.

For BitLocker data recovery, it is necessary to have the complete BitLocker information and either a password or a 48-digit BitLocker recovery key in order to access data from a BitLocker encrypted drive. This is different from ordinary data recovery using BLR Tools.

Methods for recovering files encrypted with BitLocker

Step 1: Download, install, and launch BLR data recovery tool on your Windows PC.

Step 2: After selecting the partially encrypted BitLocker drive, click Next.

Step 3: Enter the BitLocker recovery key or password (48-digits).

Step 4: Inspect the data on the partial encrypted BitLocker data recovery.

Step 5: Once the scan is complete, you can preview the documents, photos, audios, and videos to see if your lost files can be recovered.

Step 6: To begin the recovery process, select the files you want to recover and click Recover.

Step 7: Manually examine the recovered data.

This manual analysis phase is critical when attempting to retrieve data from a partially BitLocker encrypted device. A partially encrypted BitLocker drive implies that some files have been encrypted while others have not.

Step 8: Select the “Revert decryption” option from the Help menu and recover the files again if any of the restored files are inaccessible.

You must carefully analyze the recovered files when attempting to extract data from a partial encrypted BitLocker data recovery since BitLocker drive encryption is a disk level encryption solution that does not leave an encryption mark in the files.
